The problem with many students is that thinking strategies are different from work, that is, they work before they think and sometimes they think wrong, Education is described today as hindering thinking and weakening habits of mind and eliminating the imagination and mental image of the learner and as a result many learners come to higher levels They do not have the ability to think and practice habits of mind (striving for accuracy), they can only memorize and memorize educational material, This research aims to identify the struggle for accuracy, and to identify the differences according to the gender variable (males, females). The basic research sample consisted of (737) graduate students from Thi-Qar University (322) males and ( 415) females for the year 2018-2019. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher adopted a scale (Kurdi, 2017). It consists of (50) paragraphs distributed in five areas and consists of five alternatives (5, 4, 3, 2, 1). After applying the scale to the members of the research sample it turned out the following:
1 - The average scores of the striving for accuracy measure was (greater) than the theoretical average, that is, graduate students enjoy the habit of striving for accuracy.
2- There are differences according to gender variable (males, females) on the scale of the struggle for accuracy and in favor of females.
