AI contents

This Journal adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and authorship in scholarly publishing. The journal’s policy does not allow artificial intelligence tools or software to be listed as authors on any submitted or published manuscript.

AI tools, including ChatGPT and similar technologies, are not human entities. Therefore, they cannot independently design studies, develop or critically evaluate research methodologies, interpret data, or assume responsibility for the research findings and their implications. Accordingly, such tools must be treated strictly as assistive instruments and not as authors.

Artificial Intelligence and Automated Tools

The Journal of Arts of Thi-Qar applies the following policies concerning the use of artificial intelligence and automated tools:

  • The journal does not review or accept manuscripts authored by non-human entities. Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI tools must not be included in the authorship list under any circumstances.

  • Authors are required to disclose any use of AI tools or LLMs in the preparation or development of their manuscripts. The journal reserves the right to request detailed information regarding how these tools were used.

  • Reviewers are strictly prohibited from using AI tools or LLMs when evaluating manuscripts or preparing reviewer reports and comments for authors.

  • The journal will continue to monitor the ethical implications of AI and automation technologies as they evolve and will update its policies accordingly.

  • The use of artificial intelligence tools must not exceed 5% of the total manuscript content.

For further information, authors and reviewers are encouraged to consult the COPE guidelines and recommendations on the use of artificial intelligence and automation in scholarly publishing.
