The Research Submission, Review, and Publication Process

Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of the College of Education for Human Sciences – University of Thi-Qar undergo a structured and transparent review process to ensure academic quality and integrity. The process follows the stages outlined below:

  1. Manuscript Submission
    Authors submit their manuscripts electronically through the journal’s online system, along with the required metadata and in accordance with the journal’s submission guidelines.
    Estimated timeframe: Immediate upon submission.

  2. Assignment to Section Editor (Submission Queue)
    The manuscript is assigned to a section editor based on its academic specialization for initial handling.
    Estimated timeframe: 1–2 weeks.

  3. Initial Editorial Review (Submission Review)
    The manuscript is screened to ensure compliance with the journal’s scope, formatting requirements, and ethical standards. Authors may track the manuscript status through the system.
    Estimated timeframe: 1–2 weeks.

  4. Peer Review Process
    The manuscript is sent to qualified external reviewers for scientific and academic evaluation. Reviewers submit their recommendations (acceptance, minor/major revisions, or rejection).
    Estimated timeframe: 4–6 weeks.

  5. Author Revisions (If Required)
    If revisions are requested, authors are given a specific period to address reviewers’ comments and resubmit the revised manuscript.
    Estimated timeframe: 1–2 weeks, depending on the extent of revisions.

  6. Scientific, Linguistic, and Technical Editing (Submission Editing)
    Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, language editing, formatting, and layout preparation to produce the final publication-ready version.
    Estimated timeframe: 1–2 weeks.

  7. Issue Management and Scheduling
    The manuscript is scheduled for publication within a designated journal issue, and the contents of the issue are organized accordingly.
    Estimated timeframe: 1–2 weeks.

  8. Publication
    The manuscript is officially published online as part of the assigned journal issue and becomes accessible to readers and researchers.
    Estimated timeframe: Within 1 week after issue closure.

  9. Archiving
    Published articles are archived in the journal’s repository and relevant indexing systems to ensure long-term accessibility and preservation.
    Estimated timeframe: Conducted simultaneously with publication.
