Abstract

The research aims to know the visual pollution aspects of random housing in the study area،and classify them on the basis of the most visual disturbance according to the opinion of the population،because visual pollution constitutes a grave indirect threat to human life،and it was relied upon to survey the opinions of the population on this problem by following the questionnaire method that included The research sample distributed 250 forms on residential neighborhoods in the study area and this sample is called (the general sample)، and an intentional sample was taken from students of the Faculty of Engineering at Dhi Qar University and with 50 forms to compare the opinion of the general population with those with scientific specialization and this sample is called (The specialized sample)، the study found that the most contributing elements to visual distortion in the city of Nasiriyah are distortions in the environmental landscape of random housing in the city of Nasiriyah،such as the spread of waste and the inconsistency of generator wires and electric poles،the presence of grazing and animal husbandry and the lack of sanitation networks in residential buildings،as well  On the indicator of the absence of the specific architectural style،the study also showed that  the majority of the population feels dissatisfied and comfortable with the problem of random housing in their city.
