Abstract

The place is role key in the structure of the short story, it forms an artistic value relay on the storyteller in the formation of his narrative text according to the general structure of the story and its characters. The storyteller uses his technical techniques that make the reader influential in the place and achieve a very indicative without being absurd in the work of stories. By the aesthetics of the place, Ali Al-Sibai draws the relationship between the place and people of the story and the relationship with the time and what kind of dialogue will be included. This reserch is titled: (Aesthetics of the place in the group of Sumerian sorrows). The place in Ali Al-Sibai stories occupied a wide range in the literary work. The research is divided into four parts which embody the influence of the place and its significance in the group: (place and personality, space and time, space and dialogue, and open and closed place), these parts represent the place and its ideological dimensions for the reader by its semantic functions and textual relations. The importance of this study is that it is no independent studies which dealt this kind of stories in terms of place.
