Abstract

There is no doubt that the search for cognitive function in linguistics needs a process of transformation and constant transfer between what Sosur language, and what Jacobson proposed poetry and the scheme of communication functions, namely the poetic function and dominance in the text that overshadowed all the functions identified by Jacobson in his communication plan, But with some modification, addition, and change to the Jacobson scheme, we can add to it a new function: knowledge function, which is based on the ability of the poetic text and its linguistic structure to provide answers instead of asking questions
