This study deals with the economic conditions of Shatra under British administration 1918-1921. The nature of this study necessitated its division into an introduction, four basic investigations and a conclusion. In the first topic we dealt with agricultural lands and irrigation in Shatrah. While the second topic was devoted to the nature of commercial operations during the British occupation. While the third dealt with taxes. We discussed the fourth and final section on the budget of Shatrah municipality under the British occupation of that period. The study was based on a variety of sources, especially British documents that were unpublished and published. As well as Arabic and translated books and some published articles. The British occupation authorities were interested in planting crops, which are the raw materials of the British industry. Trade in that era suffered from instability because it was linked to the movement of a global commercial market driven by superpowers, in addition to the unstable budget of the Shatrah municipality, due to the turmoil in Iraq in general and Shatra in particular
